For some\, this means making impossible choices between heating their homes and putting food on the table. The festive season can amplify feelings of isolation and stress for those in need\, but the Foodbank provides more than just meals—it offers hope\, support\, and dignity to vulnerable individuals and families in our local community. By contributing\, you’re directly helping local people\, ensuring no one goes hungry this winter\, and spreading the true spirit of the season: compassion and care. \n\nWhy This Matters\nAll proceeds from this hike will go directly to Newcastle Foodbank\, an essential resource providing meals and support to vulnerable families during the festive season. December can be a challenging time for many\, and by taking part\, you’ll be helping to make a real difference to those in need. Every step we take together contributes to fighting hunger and supporting our community. \n\nEvent Details\n\nDistance: Approx. 6.5 miles\nDifficulty Level: Intermediate – suitable for hikers with moderate experience and fair fitness levels.\nEstimated Duration: 4 hours (including rest breaks).\nTerrain: Easy ground\, clear and obvious paths\, very small inclines.\n\n\nWhat to Bring\nIt’s essential to come prepared for a safe and enjoyable hike in winter conditions.
