Brew & View: Mystery Walk to the Head in the Woods – Adults Only

📅 Date: Saturday, 18th October
⏰ Start Time: 9:00 AM
📍 Meeting Point: Details will be shared in a dedicated group chat after sign-up
🎟️ Price: £20 per person
Event Overview
Step into the wild beauty of Kielder for a one-of-a-kind autumn hike to the Silvas Capitalis head, the famous creepy ‘forest guardian’ sculpture hidden among the trees.
This ramble will take you along forest tracks, lakeside views, and quiet upland paths, with the mysterious wooden head as a highlight along the way.
Halfway through, the team from AllPress will show us how to brew the perfect coffee out on the trail! Expect steaming mugs made with an Aeropress, fresh from the forest. To close the walk, we’ll finish back at the trailhead where Deep North’s van will be waiting with coffee and handmade doughnuts, the sweetest way to celebrate miles well walked.
This isn’t just a hike, it’s an invitation to slow down, notice the details, and share a moment of wonder (and caffeine!) together.
A Bit of Local History
Kielder is famous for its vast man-made lake, dark skies, and dense forest, the largest in England. Once a rugged upland landscape, the area was transformed in the mid-20th century with the creation of Kielder Water and Forest. Today, it’s a place where people come to reconnect with nature, spot wildlife like ospreys and red squirrels, and find calm in the quiet of the pines.
Why This Matters
At Tyne to Summit, we believe that time outdoors isn’t just about exercise, it’s about connection. With each step, we create space to breathe, reflect, and share moments with others. Adding a coffee experience with our partners into the mix is a perfect reminder to pause, refuel, and savour the journey together.
