Wow, what a day! Our second group hike with Tyne to Summit saw us conquer Northumberland’s highest point—the magnificent Cheviot, standing tall at 815 meters. It was a day filled with camaraderie, breathtaking views, and a shared sense of accomplishment that we’ll all remember for a long time.
First off, a massive thank you to everyone who joined us. We had an incredible turnout, with tickets selling out in a record-breaking 3 minutes! The support from our community has been absolutely overwhelming, and it’s clear that the spirit of adventure is alive and well in all of us as well as the need for this within Northumberland.
We were fortunate enough to be joined by a diverse group of hikers for this one — ranging from seasoned adventurers to those who were tackling their first big climb. We even had some furry friends along for the journey, adding an extra layer of joy to the whole experience. With the sun shining down and the weather on our side, it was the perfect day to explore the rugged beauty of the Cheviots, with views stretching out for miles across the North East and into Scotland.

The hike itself wasn’t without its challenges. The climb was tough for some with boggy sections along the way, but true to the spirit of Tyne to Summit, we stuck together as a team. Whether it was your first hike or your fiftieth, everyone supported each other every step of the way. That’s what our community is all about—no one gets left behind, and we celebrate every victory together.
Reaching the summit of The Cheviot was a moment of triumph for everyone. Tucking into a well deserved lunch at the top, looking out over the vast Northumberland landscape, we were reminded of why we do this — to connect, to challenge ourselves, and to appreciate the incredible natural beauty that surrounds us.
As we look forward to our next event and adventure, we want to thank each and every one of you for being part of Tyne to Summit and supporting what we’re doing. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just starting out, we’re here to support you on your journey, and we can’t wait to see where our next trail will take us. So why not drop us a follow on socials to keep up to date with all of our upcoming events?
Until then, keep exploring, stay connected, and remember—we’re all in this together.
Happy hiking!
